"Ya know...every culture 'round the world has their stories 'bout some kind of temptress. But how many of them have a damn cow foot?"

Now ladies and gentlemen, Leah's going to tell you a little bit about her Trinidadian culture and mythology :la:! Now I was sitting around, thinking of what to draw for halloween this year and something told me drawing witches, devils, ghouls and goblins weren't going to cut it. So the mythology nerd in me came out and speaking in a half-assed Trini accent I said to myself, "Leh we try dis ting yes? An' draw deh lajahbles!" For those oh you who have no idea what the hell I'm talking about, the la diablesse is Trinidad and Tobago's idea of the she devil. She tempts men into..."mischief" and in certain books, she has a proclivity towards abducting children, either way she's bad news. First time I heard about her as a little girl, I thought she was awesome and knew, sooner or later, I would draw her. Actually, I'd love to draw all the caribbean themed ghoulies...might try that(but have to finish that chinese zodiac thingy I started!).

To my male deviants, in case you take a little trip to the island from which my parents came, I will give you a word of advice. You can spot the devious la diablesse by some certain characteristics. She wears a looooooong dress that covers the fact that one of her feet is a cow hoof, why only one? God only knows! She wears a wide brimmed hat to cover the deformed half of her face and she likes leading men into forested areas or near the beach, or will just kill them. If you see such a woman at a party...ALLYUH RUN FUH YUH LIFE OH GOOOOOOOD! If of course if it's your girlfriend, do not run, or you'll end up single. And last but not least, to my Trinidad deviants, forgive me for butchering your accent...AH IS FROM CYANADUH AH DOES NOT SPEAK DIS WAY!! Can you tell I'm having too much fun with this?
